How To Choose Car Insurance Coverage???

Tips on choosing car insurance that suits you and your family

Car insurance is the most important thing that all drivers must have. As today there are so many options that you can choose from, but how will you know which option is best for you whether you are using your car for work or for school.

Tips on choosing car insurance that suits you and your family.

Car insurance coverage

There are different car insurance coverage policies and you need to choose the one that is best suited to you. The first is comprehensive cover and this is the highest level of insurance you can get for your vehicle. It covers your vehicle for damage occurred in any accidents, fires or natural causes. This means if you have an accident that's your fault and your car gets damaged the insurance company will pay for it to be fixed. You are also covered if your car is damaged by fire or natural causes. In addition to this your fully comprehensive cover also pays for any damages on a third party vehicle or injury to passengers or drivers if the liability lies with you.

Fully comprehensive cover can also sometimes include roadside assistance as an additional add-on if you haven't any for your vehicle. This type of cover is more suited if you have an expensive car as it covers all damages done to it including criminal damage and theft. If you're financing a new car fully comprehensive cover may be mandatory to protect the company you're purchasing the vehicle from. On your driving lessons you're fully covered under your instructor's policy and you don't have to worry about getting your own insurance until you have passed your driving test.

The next type of car insurance cover is third party fire and theft. This cover is one step down from comprehensive and is more affordable. It still covers damages caused by fire and theft although when the damages on your car are caused in an accident that is your fault the cover for damage to your car is very low. It only fully covers the third party hence the name third party fire and theft. This may be more suited to first time drivers as your first car is usually not worth much and it's one of the cheapest covers to get you out on the road.

The final sort of car insurance cover is third party. This only covers the third party vehicle involved and any injury or death to third party passengers or drivers. This cover is only recommended for older vehicles with no outstanding debt as it doesn't cover any damage done to your car whether this be caused by theft fire or if it's involved in an accident.

The minimum insurance you're allowed to take out is third party cover and this is so that other people on the road are protected against any damages caused to themselves and their vehicles. On your driving lessons you're taught to avoid danger so you will never have to use your insurance coverage. What you aren't normally told on your driving lessons is that the less of a risk you become to insurance companies the more your policy will reduce. After your first year of driving when you go to renew your car insurance policy, the less points on your licence and the less claims you have made the cheaper the renewal quote will be. Keep focused at all times on the road and you will be able to stick with fully comprehensive cover at a minimal price.
